The Far West Suburban Basketball Officials Association (FWSBOA) is an IHSA recognized Basketball Officials Association.
We currently have approximately 30 members participating in the Association.
Most of our members reside in the far western suburbs of Chicago.
While membership consists of Grade School, Jr. High, High School and College basketball officials – our focus is High School basketball officiating.
We have an even mix of boys and girls officials with many members officiating both boys and girls games.
Experience levels of members range from officials who have worked the State Finals to officials just starting out in their officiating careers.
Our primary focus is the education and mentoring of basketball officials.
We are affiliated with the Western Sun conference. Membership in the FWSBOA does not guarantee games in the Western Sun conference – however, most FWSBOA members are given games.
If you are looking to join an association for the purpose of filling out your officiating schedule, this is not going to be the association for you. Games can be secured through the association, but you will have to reach out on your own to assignors to fill out your schedule. The association is available to help with this process.
We normally meet three to four times a year with meetings beginning prior to the start of the season. The first meeting is usually in mid October.
Annual Dues are currently set at $35.
We are currently meeting at the customer service center/ meeting room of the Aurora Fire Station 8 (Fox Valley Center). The address is:
3770 McCoy Drive, Aurora 60504
(Located at the intersection of McCoy and Gregory Ave, 1 block west of Commons and 3 blocks west of the Fox Valley Mall)
Meetings are usually held on Sunday
